Eva Green and Josh Hartnett are looking very dapper in this new look at Sam Mendes-produced Victorian psychosexual horror TV series Penny Dreadful.
EW debuted the new image (via BloodyDisgusting), which gives us a look at Hartnett’s Ethan Chandler (an American who gets embroiled in a dark mystery) and Green’s Vanessa Ives (a woman with a few dark mysteries of her own).
The two star with Timothy Dalton (as explorer Sir Malcolm), Harry Treadaway (Victor Frankenstein), Rory Kinnear (The Monster), Reeve Carney (Dorian Gray) and Billie Piper (Brona Croft). It sounds rather like The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which is also being developed for TV at Fox), but with the emphasis on sexy horror.
J Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible) directs the first two episodes, while the series is created by John Logan (Gladiator, Skyfall).
Penny Dreadful will air on Showtime later this year. No UK broadcaster has yet been announced.
