Malignant Man James Wan in talks to direct

Fox acquires James Wan’s comic book Malignant Man as a possible next film for the Saw director

malignant manJames Wan’s comic book Malignant Man has been picked up by Fox, and the film is being developed with the Saw and Fast & Furious 7 director in talks to direct.

Deadline reports that Wan is involved in developing the sci-fi/horror comic, co-written by Michael Alan Nelson and illustrated by Piotr Kowalski, into a film, although his involvement as a director is not yet confirmed.

The story focus on “Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past.”

Wan has stated that he’s done with horror, although Malignant Man certainly sounds like there’s a fair bit of horror in there.
