Logan new trailer is all about X-23, guilt, gore and f-bombs, we love it

There’s another great trailer for Logan, everyone!

A new trailer has arrived for James Mangold’s Logan, and while it doesn’t have Johnny Cash’s cover of ‘Hurt’ playing over it, it’s still looking really damn good.

It’s great to see more of Dafne Keen’s Laura Kinney/X23, and that partnership between her and Hugh Jackman’s grizzled, lost Wolverine just seems like such a perfect combination.

We also get a bit more of Boyd Holbrook’s drawling villain Donald Pierce, a quick glimpse of Richard E Grant’s also-villainous Dr Zander Rice, and the really lovely touch of the X-Men comics in this universe. “Maybe a quarter of it happened, and not like this.”

There’s blood, there’s epic music, and there’s sweet, sweet cussing. Sir Patrick Stewart dropping f-bombs as Professor Charles Xavier. Who’d have thought we’d see that?

Mostly, though, this trailer is about X23, and that’s great.

We are so, so ready for Logan. If this really is the last film featuring Jackman’s Wolverine, it’s very exciting that it’s been given this kind of treatment. X-Men Origins: Wolverine seems like a very long way away now, doesn’t it?

“In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.”

Jackman leads the cast for his final appearance (probably) as Logan, alongside Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Richard E Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Sienna Novikov and Doris Morgado. James Mangold directs from a script by David James Kelly and Michael Green, and Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Lauren Shulur Donner are the producers.

Logan will be released in cinemas on 3 March 2017. You can download The 25 Greatest Marvel Comics Ever digital edition from GreatDigitalMags.com now. For more news about the latest movies, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
