Kick-Ass 3 movie won’t happen and it’s your fault

Chloe Grace Moretz dishes out the blame for Kick-Ass 2 bombing at the box office

With Kick-Ass 2‘s lukewarm box office takings, it’s fairly unlikely that Mark millar and John Romita Jr’s Kick-Ass 3 comic-book will ever be adapted, leaving the series incomplete and those early dreams of a Hit-Girl spin-off or a fourquel naught but bitter ashes.

Hit-Girl star Chloe Grace Moretz thinks she knows the real culprit, though, telling Digital Spy, “Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don’t think there will be any more movies.

“You make these movies for the fanboys, but nowadays everyone seems to pirate them rather than watch them in the movie theatre. Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn’t help us because we need box office figures.

“We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie – but because it didn’t do so well, we can’t make another one.”

You can pick up Kick-Ass 2 on DVD for £6.27 and Blu-ray for £9.69 from Amazon.co.uk. Find out more about the comics that inspired the film with new digital magazine Uncanny Comics
