The Defenders may be just around the corner, but Jessica Jones Season 2 is already filming, and a surprising casting announcement has been made: David Tennant is back as the dastardly Kilgrave.
If you haven’t watched the first season yet, you’re going to want to stop reading now…
EW debuted a picture of Tennant on set with star Krysten Ritter, and we’re surprised to see The Purple Man making his comeback given that our hero snapped his neck in the first season’s finale.
Of course, Marvel and Netflix aren’t saying how or why Tennant is back. It could be flashbacks, it could be continued post-traumatic stress for Jessica…who knows? We’ll find out when the show returns next year.
Meanwhile, The Defenders will hit Netflix on Friday.
