Open the pod bay doors (and your wallets!) film fans, because The Film Vault is rolling out a second wave of releases that takes the idea of a ‘collector’s edition’ to a whole new level with 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The Film Vault, in a stellar collaboration between Warner Bros Discovery and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, has just announced a monolithic slate of new releases including the king of all sci-fi movies, 2001: A Space Odyssey! And it’s out now!

This brand new, limited-edition 4K release boasts striking, newly-commissioned artwork and comes in an acetate slip-cover with a numbered entry, a rigid clamshell outer case featuring magnetic closure, and a digipak housing both a 4K Ultra HD copy and a Blu-ray disc.

As an extra treat, fans can find posters of the newly commissioned key art inside.

As well as the discs, each copy includes a branded envelope, deluxe art cards, and in select cases, a reproduction of an ‘in world artefact’ from the film!

If that wasn’t enough, to complete the package is a premium, meticulously etched and individually numbered crystal display plaque, featuring the film’s title treatment and motif.

Directed by the visionary Stanley Kubrick, the Academy Award-winning masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey remains to this day a mesmerising journey through time and space, showcasing the best and worst of humanity in the face of advancing technology.

Designed specifically for cinephiles and collectors alike, The Film Vault continues to set a new standard for collector’s editions. The attention to detail in both packaging and contents, along with the inclusion of premium collectibles, skyrockets this gorgeous new edition into a galaxy of its own.

Sorry Dave, you’ll have to buy your own copy.
