The DC Universe has had a bit of a shakeup of late, with The Guardians Of The Galaxy’s James Gunn and producer Peter Safran taking over as CEOs of DC Studios in 2022 and immediately putting their mark on the franchise.

That shakeup incorporated some re-casting, including that of Henry Cavil as Superman to David Corenswet as a movie about the younger version of the character is in the works with Superman Legacy.

However, it seems that Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, may still be part of the DCU.

Gadot first played the role of Wonder Woman back in 2016 with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before starring in two standalone films with Wonder Woman in 2017 and Wonder Woman 1984 in 2020, both directed by Patty Jenkins.

Now it looks like we’ll be getting a ‘Wonder Woman 3’, with Gadot confirming recently to ComicBook.com that she’s been in discussions with Gunn and Safran about developing a third movie.

“I love portraying Wonder Woman,” she said. “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James [Gunn] and Peter [Safran] is that we’re going to develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

Whether that means she’ll actually be starring as Wonder Woman remains to be seen, but she did have some advice for newcomers to the DC Universe.

“It’s such a huge take on and it’s such an exciting beginning to any actor,” she continued. “I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck, and enjoy the ride!”

Superman: Legacy will be released 11 July 2025. Keep it with SciFiNow for more news, reviews and interviews.
