Imaginary trailer: A new childhood nightmare from Blumhouse

A young girl’s imaginary friend isn’t quite as innocent as her step mother first thinks in Jeff Wadlow’s upcoming horror, Imaginary. Watch the trailer here…

Blumhouse (Five Nights at Freddy’s, M3GAN) is set to give us more original horror next year with Imaginary which taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath?

Check out the trailer…

In Imaginary, when Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.

As Alice’s behaviour becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realise Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) and written by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb (The Princess And The Frog) and Jason Oremland (Monster High: The Movie), the movie is produced by Jason Blum (The Hunt), and Jeff Wadlow, p.g.a, and stars DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World Dominion), Tom Payne (The Walking Dead), Taegan Burns (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), Pyper Braun (Erin & Aaron), with Veronica Falcon (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and Betty Buckley (Split).

Imaginary is in cinemas on 8 March from Lionsgate UK.
