Forming a part of NBC’s pilot-heavy assault on the 2010-2011 season, Summer Glau has joined superhero project The Cape as Orwell, an investigative blogger, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The pilot follows a framed cop (ER’s David Lyons), who adopts a superhero cape to clear his name. Orwell will apparently help the protagonist, chasing down crooked cops and villainous bad-‘uns in the show.
Based on the subject matter, we’re optimistic about The Cape, which should hopefully fill the superhero void if Heroes is put out of its misery in the coming months. That said, NBC has ordered a lot of pilots this season, so the competition will be stiff when the network decides whether The Cape will be picked up to series or not.
