Arrow creators want Matt Smith to star

“They would probably hire Matt Smith to take my job!” reveals Arrow’s Stephen Amell

Arrow is one of the geekiest shows around. It’s packed with references to the comic books its based on, and the showrunners’ nerdiness even extends to the casting choices.

In Season One there was Fringe veteran Seth Gable and two Doctor Who cast members, but if producer Andrew Kreisberg gets his way, the show could gain the ultimate guest star from the Whoniverse: the Doctor himself, Matt Smith.

Arrow star Stephen Amell told SciFiNow exclusively: “Andrew [Kreisberg] is such a Whovian, so if you were to say to him right now, ‘Number one guest star actor/actress, who would it be?’ Clearly it would be Matt Smith.

“I can tell you that if there was even the faintest chance that he is available, he would be hired immediately,” he adds. “They would probably hire him to take my job, they love Doctor Who so much.”

Former Time Agent John Barrowman will be returning for Arrow Season 2, and with Matt Smith exiting the TARDIS in the Doctor Who Christmas special, who knows where he might show up in the future…

Arrow Season 2 begins 21 October 2013, 8pm, on Sky 1 HD and Sky Go. Arrow Season 1 is out now on DVD for £21.02 or on Blu-ray for £27.49 from Amazon.co.uk.
