Speaking to Heat Radio about Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past, James McAvoy, who plays the younger Charles Xavier, accidentally confirmed the return of Alan Cummings to the ensemble.

“You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nicholas Hoult will be back, and he’s just blossoming massively over [in America],” he said.

“Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I don’t know if that’s happening – ‘Huge’ Jackman is coming by, he’s massive, 7’5″ and muscly.”

Cummings played fan-favourite teleporter Nightcrawler in 2003’s X-Men 2, although the strenuous make-up process ruled out his cameo in X-Men 3: The Last Stand, the actor went on to voice the character in X-Men: The Official Game.

Pick up X-Men: The Ultimate Collection, containing all five films so far, on Blu-ray for £19.75 and DVD for £15.29 from Amazon.co.uk. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is due in cinemas 18 July 2014.
