Some of the voices you heard in the first trailer for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot might not actually appear in the film, as the Michael Bay production has recast the roles of Leonardo and Splinter.

Pete Ploszek played Leonardo during the filming, while Seinfeld‘s Danny Woodburn played Splinter.

According to Deadline, Jackass‘s Johnny Knoxville will now be voicing Leonardo and Monk‘s Tony Shalhoub will voice the Turtles’ mentor Splinter.

The site reports that the studio was always open to the idea of recasting the voice actors, but coming so soon after the poorly received first trailer and so close to the movie’s release… it doesn’t exactly bode well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on 14 October 2014 in the UK. Find out more about the comics that inspired the film with new digital magazine Uncanny Comics.
