Superman prequel Krypton gets pilot order from Syfy

A David S Goyer Superman prequel is happening for Syfy

David S Goyer’s Superman prequel Krypton has been in the works for a while now, but we’ve had no evidence that it was actually ever going to happen. Until now!

Kal-El fans will be pleased to learn that after a year and a half of development, Syfy is finally close to sealing the deal for a Krypton pilot order.

The Girl With All The Gifts director Colm McCarthy is set to direct Krypton‘s pilot for Warner Horizon TV, and Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer. Kindler is also joining Goyer in rewriting the original script for the pilot which Goyer wrote with Ian Goldberg (Once Upon A Time).

The series will revolve around DC Comics characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and will be set a two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet Krypton. According to Deadline, the Man of Steel’s grandfather will step into the limelight as he “fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos”.

There’s currently no air date information for Krypton. Get all the latest superhero news with every issue of SciFiNow.
