Sure, his handiwork is all over the recent crop of Marvel success stories, but one of Stan Lee’s few original properties of the last few decades – superhero story Annihilator – is finally moving forward as a movie.
Created specifically for the Chinese market, Annihilator is a prisoner who goes through a military experiment in which he’s infused with the powers of various animals but only his martial arts training gives him the strength to survive where other test subjects have failed, he must master his abilities and overcome a villain.
The movie is being developed by Wild Wild West producer Barry Josephson with a script from The Bourne Legacy‘s Dan Gilroy.
Josephson said in a statement, “One of my dreams when I became a producer was to work with Stan Lee. Now with Dan Gilroy’s magnificent script, that dream will become a reality.”
