Announcing a massive, wide-ranging slate of upcoming movies has been the done thing over the last few weeks, but rumours fired out of Latino Review‘s news cannon about a solo movie for a young Aunt May spun off from The Amazing Spider-Man seemed a little bit ludicrous.
Well, if you described those rumours as “silly,” prepare to be validated.
CBR contacted Sony about the mooted spin-off and were told that it was a “silly rumor” with “no validity whatsoever.”
The rumours whispered that it would be based on the Mark Millar comic Trouble, which told a new version of Peter Parker’s birth. Still, the real question is, why would it have to be a young Aunt May? Why would you cast younger when you have the great Sally Field?
Then again, these are questions we don’t have to ask as it’s all a silly rumour with no validity whatsoever, apparently.
You can buy The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 on Blu-ray for £18.51 at Amazon.co.uk. Find out more about the comics that inspired the films with the 100 All-Time Greatest Comics Bookazine.
