Samuel L Jackson is joining the cast of RoboCop, the remake of the 1987 movie, as a charismatic media mogul, says The Hollywood Reporter. The Killing’s Joel Kinnaman is starring as the titular cop and Gary Oldman is playing his scientist/creator.
Kinnaman has said that this version will be “a lot more human” and that it will be “a much better acting piece, for Alex Murphy and especially when he is RoboCop.”
He won’t resemble the original cop either, adding, “It’s not going to be jaw action. They’re still working on the suit and how it’s going to look, but the visor is going to be see-through. You’re going to see his eyes.”
RoboCop will start shooting this August 2012.
