Locke And Key movie gets writer, moves closer to reality

Our dreams of a Locke And Key movie get bigger as writer is hired for the Hill/Rodriguez movie

locke and keyUniversal’s Locke And Key has found a screenwriter for its adaptation of the brilliant Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez comic book series in Albert Torres.

THR reports that Torres, who previously wrote the underrated Luke Wilson drama Henry Poole Is Here, is the one chosen to adapt the comic.

Locke & Key tells of three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine. They soon discover the house has magical keys that give the bearers a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know (but they soon will) that a devious demon also wants the keys.”

The Locke and Key movie is being produced by Alex Kurtzman, Robert Orci, Bobby Cohen and Ted Adams, and this represents the first real movement we’ve seen on it for a while.

Of course, Locke And Key did manage to get to a filmed pilot at Fox before the plug was pulled so we’re going to continue to cautiously optimistic.
