Speaking exclusively to SciFiNow at a press event for the Game Of Thrones Season 2 Blu-ray and DVD,  Kit Harington revealed that Jon Snow may have embraced his duty to the Night’s Watch, journeying North of the Wall in Game Of Thrones Season 3, but he hasn’t forgotten that initial impulse to forsake his vows and ride South, join his half-brother Robb (Richard Madden)‘s war on the Lannister’s and avenge Ned Stark (Sean Bean)’s death…

“Interesting question,” mused the actor. “It’s one I’ve thought about myself actually because it’s weird to think that he’s been so loyal to his family, to be so not-Stark but Stark, and having his father killed by this king down South that he would accept that he has to go beyond the Wall and keep his vows that easily.

“And I think although he’s got this great sense of honour about what he’s done, what he’s taken a vow for I kind of really like the idea he’s just put it to one side, that he’s gonna do everything he needs to do, and and one day he’ll he find a way of going and taking his vengeance.

“That’s my own theory on it, there’s nothing like that in the books, but my own theory, weirdly, secretly, is that there’s time for it in a strange sort of way, if he can kill Joffrey, or do what he can to get vengeance, he will in his own way, while trying to keep his vow.”

Game Of Thrones will return to Sky Atlantic on 1 April at 9pm. Pick up Season 2 now on DVD for £28 and Blu-ray for £36 from Amazon.co.uk.
