The show is set aboard the starship Phaeton, which has embarked on a ten-year journey to explore distant solar systems. To keep the crew amused and entertained on this decade-long journey, the ship is equipped with virtual reality modules that permit individuals to go anywhere they want, and as anyone they want, however, problems arise when these modules are infected with a bug.

Peter Berg, who is currently putting the finishing touches to the Will Smith starring Hancock, is to direct the pilot.
