Power Rangers movie has a casting shortlist

The Black, Red and Pink Power Rangers have names attached


Remember that Dean Israelite Power Rangers film that’s happening? Yeah? Well, the cast finally has some names attached to it.

According to Variety, Lionsgate is about to start testing a number of young actors star in the film. Auditioning for Zack, the Black Ranger are Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), Ross Butler (Hacker’s Game) and Brian “Sene” Marc (White Girl), while K.J. Apa (Shortland Street), Austin Butler (The Shannara Chronicles) and Mitchell Hope (Descendants) are all up for Jason, the Red Ranger.

Naomi Scott (Terra Nova) and newcomer Stephanie Scott will be trying out for Kimberley, the Pink Ranger.

The film’s script is being penned by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who have previously collaborated on Thor, X-Men: First Class, Fringe and Agent Cody Banks. Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur are producing.
