Top 5 best Warwick Davis sci-fi and fantasy roles

Star Wars and Harry Potter star Warwick Davis on his 5 best loved fantasy and sci-fi roles

5. Nikabrik
Films:
The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
Buy:
Prince Caspian on DVD for £9.99 or Blu-ray for £9.38 from Amazon.co.uk

As with Leprechaun and Professor Flitwick, the actor’s introduction to the Narnia universe saw him once again hiding under heavy makeup. However, Davis shines in the role – bringing a more mature presence to the part and indicating his skills as one of the UK’s most reliable character performers.

4. Professor Flitwick
Films:
Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone (2001), Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002), Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban (2004), Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005), Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2007), Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (2009), Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)
Buy:
Harry Potter – The Complete Collection on DVD for £20.21 or Blu-ray for £28 on Amazon.co.uk.

One of the actor’s most beloved personalities – Flitwick is a fixture of the Harry Potter universe and undoubtedly increased Davis’s fan base. “Harry Potter has led to me working with some of the most amazing cast and crew that this country has,” affirms the actor. “I also made some great new friends who have been a part of my life for years now.”

3. The Leprechaun
Films: Leprechaun (1993), Leprechaun 2 (1994), Leprechaun 3 (1995), Leprechaun 4: In Space (1996), Leprechaun In The Hood (2000), Leprechaun: Back 2 The Hood (2003)
Buy: Leprechaun Collectors Box on DVD for £14 from Amazon.co.uk

A career U-turn after the family frolics of Star Wars and Willow, Davis essayed the slice-happy slasher villain in six films. In the original he stalks none other than Jennifer Aniston. “Leprechaun was my chance to show that I can do other stuff,” states Davis. “Although when they re-released the first film on DVD Jennifer Aniston replaced me on the cover.”

2. Willow Ufgood
Films: Willow (1988)
Buy: Willow on DVD for £6.42 and Blu-ray for £11.20 from Amazon.co.uk

Still a career highlight for Davis, Willow allowed him to move out of costumes and become an actual actor. “It is a lot more difficult to perform when you are in a creature suit,” laughs the thespian. “So Willow was an amazing opportunity.”

1. Wicket the Ewok
Films: Return Of The Jedi (1983), Caravan of Courage: The Ewok Adventure (1984), Ewoks: The Battle For Endor (1984).
Buy: Star Wars: The Original Trilogy on DVD for £51.99 or Blu-ray for £33.13 from Amazon.co.uk
The 12 year old Davis auditioned for Return Of The Jedi after his grandmother heard an advert on the radio stating that Lucas was casting for the new Star Wars sequel. Chosen for his size, Davis became the film’s lead Ewok – a role he would reprise in two so-so television spin-offs.
