If you try to ignore the weird, unsettling baby creature at the very end of the episode, it’s one of the brilliant ‘chess’ instalments of Trek’s first season, along with ‘Balance Of Terror’. The remastered edition also upgraded the slightly ropy effects that were present in the original, making for awesome viewing all round.
