Zombieland 3D on the way

Zombie hunting in a new dimension.

Picture 1The creators of hit horror comedy Zombieland have confirmed a sequel is in the works and, in a neat twist, fans will be seeing this next instalment in blood-lashed 3D.

As reported by Variety, Sony is working speedily to get this sequel moving forward and the film’s producer, Gavin Polone, had this to say about the project: “Everyone had fun watching the first Zombieland; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better,” Polone rationalised. “I don’t think you want to see ‘ordinary people’ in 3D. But Zombieland is clearly one movie that will benefit from the technique.”

In news previously released by Moviehole, director Ruben Fleischer stated that he will be returning to helm this second coming of the zombie apocalypse. With Polone overseeing things, and reports that negotiations are already underway to bring back the original cast, it looks like Sony is on course to recapture the spirit of the original.

Zombieland was released earlier this year and beat Zack Snyder’s Dawn Of The Dead remake to become the highest grossing zombie movie of all time. With the film holding a current worldwide gross of $84.8 million, it’s not surprising that Sony is sending Tallahassee and his ragged band of survivors back for more undead action.
