Speaking to DigitalSpy, X-Men: Days Of Future Past writer and producer dismissed talk of a shared marvel universe for the 20th Century Fox movies, insisting that although he’s also signed on to produce and rewrite Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four, they’re still very separate.

“They are definitely different universes in that all of the X-Men films have never acknowledged a superhero team called The Fantastic Four who live in New York City,” said Kinberg.

“Fantastic Four has never lived in the X-Men world, the world we’re creating – which is a much more grounded, realistic, more like Chronicle, much less than the original Fantastic Four movies – if there were mutants in that world they wouldn’t be that fantastic.

“They would just be another four people with powers. So they are distinct worlds these movies take place in.”

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be released on 22 May 2014. Read our massive behind the scenes special in the new issue of SciFiNow and find out more about the comics that inspired the film with our awesome new digital magazine Uncanny Comics.
