Syfy has given fan-favourite TV show Wynonna Earp a fourth season order just a week after the third season premiered to the delight of Earpers everywhere.
THR reports that the series, created by Emily Andras, may not have been a massive ratings blockbuster for the network but that they can’t ignore the devoted cult following and the fact that it is a “social media powerhouse.” Damn right.
Wynonna Earp stars Melanie Scrofano in the title role and is based on the IDW comic book, following the great, great-granddaughter of Wyatt Earp as she slays revenants with her ancestor’s Peacemaker.
Andras said “We are absolutely delighted that Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a fourth season. We are so grateful to Syfy for their relentless and ferocious support of the series and the ‘Earper’ fandom.”
Wynonna Earp Season Three begins on 27 July on 5Spike. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
