Wrong Turn remake is on the way, backwoods cannibals getting a reboot

Eliza Dushku horror Wrong Turn is getting a reboot

There’s only so far you can go before you end up at the beginning again, and horror series Wrong Turn is apparently due a reboot.

Deadline reports that Constantin Films is working on a remake of the 2003 film, which starred Eliza Dushku, Jeremy Sisto, Desmond Harrington, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Kevin Zegers and Lindy Booth as a group of young people stranded in the backwoods after taking the titular wrong turn and being hunted by a group of inbred cannibals.

The film spawned a surprisingly ace splatter-filled sequel starring Henry Rollins (Wrong Turn 2: Dead End) and then four more DTV instalments.

Alan McElroy, who wrote the original film, is on board to script the remake, while Mike P Nelson (The Domestics) is directing.

The new film will apparently be “a timely and topical meditation on society and its issues. A cross-country hiking expedition puts a group of friends in the land of an inclusive society, where they soon discover they are under a different rule of law, and may not be the victims they thought they were.”
