writing-2

Are you an aspiring author? Do you love writing? Do you want to follow in the footsteps of JK Rowling, George RR Martin, Andy Weir et al, and make a living from your writing?

Take one step closer to making your dreams closer to reality, and enrol in FutureLearn’s free online ‘Start Writing Fiction’ course, which starts today on Monday 12 October. FutureLearn is a widely respected platform, with over two million users, connecting you with content from leading universities and specialists.

On this course, You will listen to established writers, such as Louis de Bernières (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin), Alex Garland (The Beach) and Monique Roffey (House Of Ashes), talk about how they started writing. You’ll consider the rituals of writing, the importance of keeping a journal, and ways to improve your writing and editing skills.

Additionally, you will be able to review and comment on the work of other members of your course, and receive feedback yourself. The course lasts for eight weeks, based on three hours per week of work. To sign up, head to FutureLearn’s website.

If you’re looking to kick-start your writing career, or even have fun and improve your fiction-creating skills, we highly recommend giving this a try.
