According to bona fide Hollywood insider Nikki Finke, Warner Bros have lined up a slate of films stretching into 2018, which she believes will be announced at the forthcoming San Diego Comic Con.
Adding that the recently announced Metal Men movie, as well as the rumoured Suicide Squad movie, weren’t going to make the cut, Finke lists the full line-up as:
- May 2016 – Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice (which may have a Green Lantern cameo)
- July 2016 – Shazam
- Christmas 2016 – Sandman
- May 2017 – Justice League (which will introduce Aquaman)
- July 2017 – Wonder Woman
- Christmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
- May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
What this Flash and Green Lantern team-up means for The CW’s Flash TV show has yet to be revealed, but Finke adds that Ryan Reynolds won’t be returning as Green Lantern.
Meanwhile, Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice‘s pushback from 2015 to 2016 has nothing to do with the threat of Avengers: Age Of Ultron and everything to do with the contracts, as the movie will serve as a launchpad for Justice League, making these cameos – no matter how small – vital.
Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released on 6 May 2016, read our defence of Ben Affleck’s casting here and Gal Gadot’s casting here.
