Wolverine 3 pics look a lot like Old Man Logan

The mutants have gone missing in these new pics from Wolverine 3

It’s a fun time to be following the progress of Logan (if you’ve managed to train yourself out of referring to it as Wolverine 3 already) on social media at the moment, what with all the various snaps being released that give little hints about what’s to come. Already we’ve had confirmation that Boyd Holbrook is playing Donald Pierce, and that all might not be quite alright with Professor Xavier. Now, a few more hints have been dropped.screen-shot-2016-10-16-at-20-13-58 screen-shot-2016-10-16-at-20-14-10

Firstly, there are these two storyboards from Gabriel Hardman that were tweeted out by director James Mangold, which appear to show an enraged Logan smashing through a car. No idea who he’s trying to get at (Pierce, perhaps?), but he’s definitely not happy.

Then we have these three photo’s tweeted by Hugh Jackman himself, which bear the descriptions ‘Smelting plant. LOGAN’, ‘MUTANTS’ and ‘SUNSEEKER. LOGAN. 3.3.17.’ respectively.

While the second and third images are suitably post-apocalyptic (thus reminding us of Mark Millar’s acclaimed Old Man Logan comic book), it’s the second image that has us the most intrigued. Where are all the mutants indeed. Have they all been killed off in an event a la the aforementioned series, or has something else entirely? And has Logan simply swapped one apocalyptic future for another by playing his part in the events of X-Men: Days Of Future Past? We can’t wait to find out.

Hugh Jackman is starring alongside Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Richard E Grant, Stephen Merchant, Doris Morgado and Eriq La Salle, with James Mangold directing from a script penned by Michael Green and David James Kelly.

Logan will be released in cinemas on 3 March 2017. You can download The 25 Greatest Marvel Comics Everdigital edition from GreatDigitalMags.com now. For more news about the latest movies, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
