Rachel Weisz has been attached to the next project from Karyn Kusama, director of the upcoming Jennifer’s Body, according to the helmer herself.
“There’s a screenplay I wrote a while a go with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the David Cronenberg tradition, that I’m tying to get made,” said Kusama in an interview with io9. “It definitely does fall into sort of a body horror movie that deals very, very specifically with our concept of gender. I can’t really talk to you specifically about it other than to say that Rachel Weisz is attached to the film.”
Kusama, of course, has a background in the science fiction and horror genres, with the aforementioned Jennifer’s Body as well as Aeon Flux, starring Charlize Theron. Weisz herself has also done a number of genre-associated projects, such as The Mummy 1 and 2, and The Fountain, from her fiancee Darren Aronofsky.
Although no other information on the film is currently available, we will continue to bring you updates as they happen.
