The solo Venom movie will be clawing into cinemas later this year, and we’ve finally got our first proper still from the film. No, it’s not Tom Hardy in full Venom mode, but it is Tom Hardy.
IGN debuted the first image from the movie, featuring Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in reporter mode. He’s also got a bracelet and some tattoos…and that really is about it. However, the site also have a couple of quotes from Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer, with the latter confirming that the film will draw on the Lethal Protector and the Planet Of The Symbiotes storylines.
Hardy told the crowd at Brazil Comic Con Experience that “I just wanted to say that I give you my word of honour that I’m going to do everything that I can to deliver the best Venom that I possibly can muster.”
The excellent cast includes Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed (possibly as Carnage) and Jenny Slate, with Kelly Marcel writing the latest draft of the script.
