Having already been revealed as the main villain of the piece in the upcoming Legends Of Tomorrow, the casting of Vandal Savage won’t exactly come as a surprise – although the revelation, courtesy of Variety, that he will appear in crossover episodes of Arrow and The Flash before showing up in DC’s small-screen team-up is more of one.
In any case, Vandal Savage will be played by Danish actor Casper Crump. Containing mainly film and TV credits from his homeland to date, he is currently a pretty unknown quantity amount British viewers – although it’s likely that this will change in the near future, since as well as becoming part of DC’s CW-verse, he will also star in David Yates’ Tarzan film (also featuring Margot Robbie, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L Jackson).
In any case, back to the main story. For those who are unfamiliar with the comics, Vandal Savage is a 6,000 year-old immortal who gets his kicks from travelling the globe, working from the shadows with some of history’s most evil people – all in the aid of eventual world domination, of course. As far as villains go, he’s undoubtedly a good one to have as the centrepiece.
