Vampire romance Kiss of the Damned has lovely poster

Retro illustrated poster for Xan Cassavetes’ retro vampire film Kiss Of The Damned

Xan Cassavetes’ vampire love triangle film Kiss Of The Damned, starring Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), Roxanne Mesquida (Kaboom) and Josephine de la Baume (One Day), has a gorgeous new illustrated poster.

The film played at the London Film Festival last year and tells the story of a successful screenwriter (Ventimiglia) who falls in love with a vampire (de la Baume), but their happiness is threatened by her manipulative, violent sister (Mesquida).

It’s a beautifully shot, arch homage to erotically charged vampire films from the 1960s and 1970s like Daughters Of Darkness and Lust For A Vampire.

This new poster was produced for Kiss Of The Damned‘s screening at SXSW Festival, and Movies.com asked Cassavetes if she intended the film to be a straight homage.

“The poster is a bit more homage-y than the movie. It’s definitely more influenced by European horror of the ’60s and ’70s, but it’s not an homage movie. It goes its own routes.”

Kiss of the Damned does not currently have a UK release date. You can buy Daughters of Darkness on DVD for £10.00 at Amazon.co.uk
