Update: Star Trek DVD/Blu-ray news

The specs are in as Star Trek zooms towards a breathtaking home entertainment release.

phcuzeceseusfiAs Star Trek maintains its course to become the most successful instalment in the franchise ever ($378 million and counting),  Paramount prepares to unleash a must own home-entertainment version of the film. Released on 16 November, this title will come in a traditional one-disc DVD set as well as a special double-disc edition. Best of all, however, is a three-disc Blu-ray set, which along with the film and bonus content, will include a digital copy option.

As previously reported, the specs for this  DVD/Blu-ray release are impressive to say the least. As well as the film itself, fans can expect the title to feature an audio commentary with JJ Abrams, Bryan Burk, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci. In addition to this, behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes and promo spots will be present on both versions of the release, while the Blu-ray will feature a large number of exclusive extras.

DVD Active has unveiled a detailed listing for this highly anticipated release, and you can check out the box art below.
