There have been a few video game adaptations released recently – all with varying degrees of success. For every The Last Of Us (brilliant, oh and watch the teaser trailer for Season Two here) there is a Borderlands (erm…). Well, now we have a new adaptation to continuously enjoy in a loop with Until Dawn, which is based on the 2015 PlayStation video game developed by Supermassive Games.
Check out the genuinely creepy trailer for the movie here…
Until Dawn follows Clover and her friends who, one year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
Directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) and written Blair Butler (The Invitation) and Gary Dauberman (It), the movie stars Ella Rubin (The Idea Of You), Michael Cimino (Annabelle Comes Home), Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser), Ji-young Yoo (Freaky Tales), Belmont Cameli (Saved By The Bell), Maia Mitchell (Good Trouble) and Peter Stormare (Twilight of the Gods).
Until Dawn will be released in cinemas on 25 April
