Twin Peaks Season 3: cast talk new season

The show’s stars on returning to Twin Peaks for Season 3

In what has to be the closest we’ve come to seeing actual new footage of Twin Peaks Season 3 to date, this featurette has just dropped, featuring various cast members talking about their return to the titular spooky small town and what viewers can expect from the show’s return.

And it’s quite a role call: returning and new cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Dana Ashbrooke, Kimmy Robertson, Harry Goaz, Miguel Ferrer, Amy Shiels, Jim Belushi, James Marshall and Chrysta Bell are all correct and present, and while they’re essentially in soundbite mode, they still have a few interesting things to say. We won’t spoil here exactly what, mind you, but it’s well worth watching

Interestingly, there are also a few hints at what the story could involve: for instance, the Packard Sawmill (which doesn’t look to be in the best state) is shown, as is the Twin Peaks Sheriff Department, which looks at first glance to be just the same as it always did (even if Michael Ontkean’s Sheriff Truman will be absent this time round). Plus, there are rather ominous-looking snaps of a group of FBI officers walking down the road, a panning shot of the woods, a similar one of the waterfall, and MacLachlan in full Special Agent Dale Cooper mode, being directed by David Lynch himself. Whether he’s still trapped in the Black Lodge and this is in fact BOB in his body remains to be seen, but we’re sure that Lynch will keep us guessing.

Anyway, you can watch the video in full below. We recommend doing so with a damn fine coffee and some cherry pie…

Twin Peaks: Season 3 will air on Showtime in the US in 2017 and on Sky Atlantic in the UK. For all the latest TV news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
