This news means that the second part, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which is scheduled for release on 20 November, won’t have even been seen by fans by the time this third feature goes into production.

The plot of Eclipse builds on the events of its predecessor, and sees Bella once again torn by the vampire Edward Cullen and the wolf-morphing Jacob. In addition to this, the town of Forks faces a new threat in the form of a bunch of not-so-friendly vampires.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is pencilled in for a 30 June 2010 release date and will be directed by David Slade.
