Trick ’r Treat helmer Michael Dougherty has hinted that a sequel to his fiendishly good horror film is in the works. Speaking to MTV he said the following:
“Yeah, I have to say that the excitement over the past few months of watching the film grow has started to jumpstart some ideas, and I know how the next one ends,” Dougherty exclaimed, before going on to admit his desire to turning his baby into a franchise. “If this [DVD release] does become something, if it catches executives off-guard, it might [get sequels]. I would love to do them.”
Despite a lot of buzz and mostly positive reviews across the board, Trick ’r Treat has been toiling on the shelf since 2007. Now coming out on DVD and Blu-ray, Dougherty’s film is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Check out the trailer below, courtesy of traileraddict.com.
Trick ’r Treat is out to buy on the 26 October and is available on DVD and Blu-ray.
