Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows to start shooting next year

Burton and Depp team up for this TV remake.

TPicture 1im Burton’s remake of the 1960s soap opera Dark Shadows is on course to begin shooting late next year, according to Sci Fi Wire.

Speaking to the organisation was producer Graham King, who as well as confirming that the film is being prepped to shoot, also disclosed that Johnny Depp will be starring as iconic vampire Barnabas Collins.

“We’re actually going to shoot that film next September/October with Tim Burton and Johnny,” King stated before going into more detail. “We’ve been working on the script a lot, even though he’s working on Alice. We’ve been given a script. John August wrote the first screenplay. We’re making some changes, but the film’s going to be in production, as I say, September or October of next year.”

At the moment Burton is currently putting the finishing touches to his version of Alice In Wonderland, which is being released on 05 March 2010. If all goes to plan Dark Shadows will mark the eighth time both Depp and Burton have worked together on a movie.
