Tim Burton, who is currently beavering away on Alice In Wonderland with Johnny Depp as the mad hatter, is rumoured to have his next movie lined up – a remake of the cult Sixties TV show Dark Shadows.
Wonderland producer Richard Zanuck has indicated that the adaptation will be Burton’s next project and that, in a bizarre turn of events that few of us could have predicted, Johnny Depp will have a starring role. Dan Curtis’s original show was a gothic supernatural soap opera-styled affair that featured ghosts, vampires, monsters, witches and all sorts. Vampire Barnabas Collins was the lead character in the series and it is this role which Depp is expected to portray.
