The X-Files new series needs you according to Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson wants your help to make a new series of The X-Files, who are we to argue?

The X-Files ScullyGillian Anderson is having a pretty good run at the moment, with Hannibal and The Fall earning her plenty of critical praise and making the days of The X-Files seem pretty far away.

However, speaking to Chris Hardwick on The Nerdist podcast, Anderson said that she’d definitely be up for a new series of The X-Files, asking “Should Fox do anything in their power to make it happen?” to an overwhelmingly positive response.

The Nerdist quickly began #xfiles2015, urging fans to express just how much they want to see Mulder and Scully on the small screen again.

Obviously, we’re currently feeling Scully levels of scepticism and Mulder levels of joy in the possibility of something this wonderful happening. The X-Files have always been more at home on TV than at the movies (we wouldn’t really want another X-Files: I Want To Believe), and it would be great to give the series a more fitting send-off than the show’s final couple of seasons (the awesomeness of John Doggett aside).

At the very least, we’re definitely going to use this news as an excuse to go back and start watching the series from the beginning again.

Come on, Fox. Come on.

You can buy The X-Files Complete Series 1-9 on DVD for £44.99 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest sci-fi news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
