The Shape Of Water trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s latest is stunning

The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape Of Water is finally here and it is glorious

The first trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s new film The Shape Of Water is finally here, and it’s a beautiful thing. It does also feel a bit spoilery (there’s a lot in here), so you may want to skip it and take our word for it that it is stunning. The choice is yours…

Yeah, so there’s a fair amount that feels rather third-act-y, but my goodness, this looks wonderful. It’s theĀ 1950s creature feature love story that we always wanted by didn’t realise, and that cast!

The Shape Of Water stars Sally Hawkins, Doug Jones, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Nick Searcy, Lauren Lee Smith, David Hewlett and John Kapelos.

“An other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forver when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.”

The Shape Of Water is released on 8 December in the US and 16 February 2018 in the UK. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
