F Javier Gutiérrez’s Rings has found another victim for Samara’s videotape.
Deadline reports that The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki has signed on to star in the third film based on Takashi Shimizu’s classic J-Horror The Ring. He’ll be playing “Gabriel, a handsome, pleasure-seeking professor who mentors and helps boyfriend and girlfriend duo, Holt (Alex Roe) and Julia (Matilda Lutz).”
Friday Night Lights star Aimee Teegarden also joined the cast recently, and the film is already shooting in Atlanta. The script is written by David Loucka, Jacob Aaron Estes, and Akiva Goldsman, and we know that it’s not a prequel.
Rings will be released 1 January 2016 in the UK. Keep up with the latest horror news with the latest issue of SciFiNow.
