The Purge TV series renewed for Season 2

The Purge has officially been renewed for Season 2

The Purge is officially allowed to survive another night: the USA Network’s horror spin-off show has been renewed for Season 2.

The series, which is based on the hit horror film franchise of the same name, was created by James DeMonaco and stars Gabriel Chavarria, Hannah Anderson, Jessica Garza, Lili Simmons, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell and Lee Tergesen.

Of the renewal, the President of Entertainment Networks for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment said: “The partnership and creative trust of Jason Blum and everyone at Blumhouse Television and Universal Pictures ensured The Purge’s successful transition from film to TV – and, along with Universal Cable Productions, we look forward to digging even deeper into the mythology in Season 2.

The Purge is set during an annual holiday where all crime, including murder, is legal for 24 hours, and follows a group of people just trying to survive the night.

The Purge Season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. Get all the latest horror news with every issue of SciFiNow.
