The Predator casts Game Of Thrones and Chuck stars

Two more join the cast of Shane Black’s The Predator

Filming has begun on Shane Black’s The Predator this week but names are still being added to the cast.

Yvonne Strahovski in Dexter

THR reports that Chuck and The Handmaid’s Tale star Yvonne Strahovski is in final negotiations to join the latest chapter in the alien monster saga, joining an impressive roster that includes Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu), Sterling K Brown (The People Vs OJ Simpson), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Jacob Tremblay (Room) and Thomas Jane (The Mist).

Strahovski “will play the mother to Tremblay, a troubled boy who is accidentally drawn into the conflict with the fierce alien creatures by his father — her ex-husband — played by Holbrook.”

Alfie Allen in John Wick

Her casting follows the recent news that Game Of Thrones star Alfie Allen had joined the movie, as “an ex-Marine who teams with several other outsiders, including one played by Holbrook, to stop the human-hunting creatures in a setting that hasn’t yet been seen in a Predator movie: suburbia.”

A couple of things to note: the Alfie Allen THR report does seem to confirm the long-rumoured suburbia setting, and that both reports mention “creatures,” plural. Which is exciting.

Black tweeted a picture of some of his cast in costume earlier this week, check it out…

He also used the platform of social media to put some fears about ratings to bed.

The Predator is set for release on 9 February 2018 in the US and 2 March in the UK. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
