The next Lost? JJ Abrams and Eric Kripke’s Revolution picked up by NBC

New drama from the Lost and Supernatural creators is set in a world where energy has ceased to exist

Created by Supernatural’s Eric Kripke, executive produced by Alias/Lost/Super 8/Star Trek’s JJ Abrams with a pilot directed by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau, NBC’s Revolution is the first high-profile genre pick-up of the new TV season. In this high-concept drama, a family is struggling to come back together in a world where all forms of energy no longer exist (although that seems at odds with the well-lit press image released so far). Presumably, the series sees everyone adjusting to this new way of life.

Revolution is expected to air after The Olympics in August on NBC. A UK broadcaster should be announced in a few months, although shockingly, no channel in the UK has yet picked up Abrams’ last Lost-sized hit Person Of Interest.
