The Lure trailer for Polish mermaid horror is NSFW and glorious

These singing, dancing mermaids are going to eat you in the trailer for The Lure

Having seen the trailer for Agnieszka Smoczyńska’s upcoming mermaid film The Lure, we can tell you that we want to see this mad-looking genre blend as soon as possible. Here it is…

The film has played at several film festivals (including the East End Film Festival and Edinburgh Festival here in the UK, so there’s a good chance some of you genre fans have already seen it) and it sounds absolutely fascinating. Here’s the plot synopsis from IMDb (just in case you weren’t entire clearly what was going on in that trailer…)

“In Warsaw, a pair of mermaid sisters are adopted into a cabaret. While one seeks love with humans the other hungers to dine on the human population of the city.”

There’s also this poster from IMPAwards which is pretty eye-catching…

The Lure will be released on VOD on 1 February in the US. No UK release date has been announced. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
