The Little Mermaid has a trailer, but it’s not the Disney one

This trailer for one of the Little Mermaid remakes is… um… different…

So there’s a new trailer for one of the remakes of Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Little Mermaid and, to be completely honest, it leaves a lot to be desired. But thankfully this isn’t the big budget Disney version. Instead, it comes from Conglomerate Media and Kingsway Productions.

Anyway, take a look:

We’re getting FairyTale: A True Story (1997) vibes from it. Maybe it will be good. Who knows?

It stars Shirley MacLaine (The Apartment), Poppy Drayton (The Shannara Chronicles), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Loreto Peralta (Instructions Not Included) and Gina Gershon (Bound). Blake Harris and Chris Bouchard are directing from a screenplay by Harris, with Jessica Steinbrenner acting as an executive producer.

According to Deadline, the film “centers on a young girl (Peralta) and her older brother (Moseley), a reporter, who travels to a small town in Mississippi to find a woman believed to be the real Little Mermaid.”

The Little Mermaid will be released later this year. Get all the latest fantasy news with every issue of SciFiNow.
