The Lego Movie’s Unikitty is getting her own Cartoon Network series

All hail Unikitty as she gets her own show!

If 2014’s The Lego Movie left you kind of obsessed with Unikitty then you’ll be thrilled with cherry on top to know that the character is getting her own animated series, titled Unikitty!, with an exclamation mark.

The new show is set to be produced by Warner Bros Animation and will air on Cartoon Network next to the likes of Adventure TimeSteven Universe and The Powerpuff Girls. It will follow Unikitty and her friends “into a world full of adventure, excitement and dance parties.” We like the sound of this already.

In a press release, it was confirmed that the show will revolve around Princess Unikitty as she rules her royal kingdom, tries to keep her subjects happy, and makes sure everything is sparkly and lovely forever without losing her temper and raging out.

New characters set to appear in the series include Unikitty’s brother, Puppycorn, her personal bodyguard Hawkodile, and a scientist named Dr Fox.

Community‘s Alison Brie voiced Unikitty in The Lego Movie, but unfortunately she won’t be coming back to reprise her role for the series. Instead, Tara Strong of Teen Titans Go! will be taking on the lead role.

Other voice actors confirmed to be lending their talents for Unikitty! include Grey Griffin (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Kate Micucci (Steven Universe), who also incidentally featured in The Lego Movie as Clayface, Roger Craig Smith (Transformers: Robots In Disguise), Eric Bauza (Uncle Grandpa) and H Michael Croner (Review).

The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee, executive producer Jill Wilfert and Sam Register are on board as executive producers for Unikitty!, while Aaron Horvath will be the supervising producer, and Edward Skudder and Lynn Wang will be producing.

Unikitty! doesn’t yet have an air date. Get all the latest fantasy news with every issue of SciFiNow.
