The Lego Batman movie cast is really coming together. Recently, the film added Michael Cera as Robin to Will Arnett’s Batman, a casting choice so genius it seemed almost obvious.

Now, THR reports that Zach Galifianakis is in final negotiations to play the Joker in the film directed by Chris McKay. The Lego Batman Movie is written by Seth Grahame-Smith, while the creators of the original film, Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are staying on as producers.

The Lego Batman Movie will have some way to go before it matches the all round awesomeness of The Lego Movie‘s all-star cast, but this is a very strong start.

We don’t really have anything exciting to add to this news, so we’ll just leave you with a fun fact: Will Arnett and Zach Galifianakis previously starred together in guinea pig action movie G-Force. So…there you go.

The Lego Batman Movie is released in UK cinemas on 10 February 2017. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
